This is a beautiful hotel that has beautiful views of the sea and coast. We enjoyed our time here but found at time that the steps were tiresome. The pool area is small but there are lots of decks to sit on, but it is difficult sometimes to get out of the sun. There is good service on the decks, and breakfast (and breakfast staff) are amazing.
My wife and I spent 2 weeks here in July and I can’t explain in words how amazing this place was, from the elevator operator to the guest counter and on to the wait staff we were treated like royalty!!! We traveled the whole coast and it was all beautiful of course but this hotel was by far the best part of the whole trip! Special thanks to Thomas our waiter, he went far and above to make us feel special, so much so that we chose to eat here with him over a Michelin restaurant!!!!!! Hopefully next time we go he will be in management (he is most deserving!!!)
We just got back from our honeymoon - extended vacation and part of it was staying at this beautiful hotel. I did not write a review immediately post check-out, because I wanted to sit on it...calm down from the vacation high in order to give an honest review... and here it goes.... THIS IS THE BEST HOTEL in PRAIANO! Hands down!!!! multiple reasons, of which most of the 5-star ratings touch on already. (Read them, they are accurate), but I wanted to add a little colour to it.. The location is THE BEST location in the town. We took a stroll through the town to try other restaurants, and even visited the other hotels for future consideration, but quickly realized that the street level location and ease of access to the beach/water taxi's/local store for the basics, was more than ideal. Everything else is a hike up the steep cliff. Normally not an issue, as we like the hiking, but the heat made the hikes really sweaty! The fact that there is also an elevator available is great for all.
This hotel also has a spectacular dining experience. Their complementary breakfast was always delicious and fresh, and the views are spectacular! The dinner offering is that of a fine-dining experience with delicious food. You will see that in some posts there are a few guests complain about serving size... Let me be clear... This is a high-end restaurant with high-end food. Don't expect a McDonalds XL sizing here.. The dishes are exactly what they should be, and the pricing is exactly what they should cost. If you don't want to make a special night out at their restaurant, there are many other places that are available around, but I highly recommend the food and visual experience at Restorante Franchino. go their for the memories and the great service! There are also restaurants in the quickly walkable beach area that also have great food, and Il Pirata ristorante at the base of the hotel is also a must visit. No shortage of food options!
The pool isn't too big, but that's a plus for us. It has a bubble lounger, infinity pool edge, guizer and waterfall that are all push button to activate. Since the property is private, you don't have a lot of riff-raff around (or any for that matter, in our experience), and there are enough spots to sit/sunbathe for everyone. You might just want to do it on other floors (all of which are connected and convenient).
Lastly, the staff.... What can I say. Tania, Francesco, Giuseppe, Anna and the rest of the staff were just so friendly and helpful. You all made the stay more pleasant and enjoyable, with no hesitancy to help out with dinner reservations or water taxi bookings, or even just a great conversation...
We will be back there in our future and I hope, if you're reading this, that you go and experience this for yourself. Praiano is not Closterphobic like Positano, or busy like Amalfi, but they are both only 15 minutes by water taxi away. It's a romantic and generally quite place to chill and look out at the beautiful water and cliffs of the Amalfi Coast. The stunning colours of boats and people on the pier diving into the seawater (as we did) was just what we needed. Enjoy!!! :)
There is not a better location in Praiano!
We stayed here for four nights on our honeymoon and it was absolutely magical! The rooms were much bigger and nicer than I had expected based on the pictures online. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the pier and beach.
The restaurant was SO GOOD and was honestly one of my favorite meals I had in Italy. The lemon desert was to die for and we had it at other restaurants on the coast, but this was the best!
We had one small hiccup in the beginning with the driver they hired to pick us up being a full hour late but other than that, the stay was perfect!
Also something to be mindful of is there are no ferries out of Praiano, only private water taxis. Make sure to schedule any trips you need the day before! But the hotel is literally a 1-2 minutes walk to the pier where the boats pick you up so its very convenient if you have scheduled ahead of time!!
A beautiful, boutique style, 25 bedroom hotel.
We had a sea view room and it was absolutely stunning.
Italian styled bed, wardrobe and dresser.
Breakfast was amazing. Always a vast selection of fresh fruit, meats cheese, pastries etc. Dinner was also very good.
Lunch we only had once, and the menu was the same as the dinner. We asked for a salad which was very good. But, be aware, that it is €6 cheaper per plate if you eat upstairs around the pool bar.
Staff were very attentive.
This was the perfect location to spend 5 nights to round off our 17 nights touring Italy.
Wonderful stay at an excellent boutique hotel. Amazing views and very good AC in the rooms. The restaurant is very good with a quiet ambiance and the hotel staff is very attentive and has helpful tips on how to get around arranging external vendors. They were the best and helped with scheduling everything. The swimming pool and pool bar are great but could stay open a little longer to fully enjoy the sunsets. Breakfasts were amazing with fresh local pastries and produce.
Access to the private beach club and bar beneath the hotel using the public walkway. Get there early for the best sunbeds !
Staff and location were great. Hotel was super relaxing and was in a great location close enough to walk to Praiano or take a cab to Amalfi or Positano, while also having beach access right next door.
Room was a little dated, but likely part of the Amalfi coast experience.
